Minecraft 1.17 is alot of fun

Minecraft 1.17 dropped a few days ago and I'm trying it out right now. So let's see what's new right now! (just so you know we're talking about the java edition of the game)

First of all Minecraft now runs on Java 15 which is pretty cool and brings some performance improvements. A lot of people were dissapointed with this update because it "wasn't the update they hoped" but that's because of the update split, there is 1.17 and there will be a 1.18 or something along those lines. The new cave generation is not a thing yet but that doesn't matter because the new ore textures and dynamics are there. Including some small generation tweaks, Glow Lichen is a thing in this game now but if you look in the hotbar they are not very visible.

The new textures are uhh, yeah, I'll get used to them I guess. I think they're cool and stuff and they were needed for accessibility reasons and bla bla bla but sometimes I just like putting on the Programmer Art Texture Pack and just vibing with that. I still like the old textures a ton! I've been playing the game for a good 6 years now and sometimes I want some change, that's why I play with mods like ComputerCraft:Tweaked which is have some programs for. You can also now fortune Iron and Gold which is a big thing, you still need to smelt them but if you have a good supersmelter it'll be fine!

The new ores are interesting

One of the new things that happened in the update was the playersSleepingPercentage gamerule. It basically does what it says on the box but you can also set it to 101. What that does is disable sleeping altogether. When you then get in bed you see the message: "No amount of rest can skip the night". The Phantoms will be very happy with that addition to say the least!

You also have new sign dyes! I don't exactly know how this works because I was tinkering on a friend's world.

You currently also have a sort of optifine zoom but not optifine zoom because it's an item, the Spyglass! It's made with Copper and Amethyst Chards!
