About

A little over a year ago (late 2021) I heard about the gemini protocol, and thought about tinkering with it. About a year before that, I thought it would be neat to try and see about making a move to do as much as I could from terminal/command-line interfaces. A couple years prior, I started looking into BBSes and the gopher protocol and thought I should try to learn more about them. Now, it's 2023, and I still haven't done a whole lot with any of it.

As of the moment of this writing, I'm trying to change all of this and set out to learn and play around in the text-based computing world as much as possible. So, here's yet another attempt at my setting up a gemini capsule, a first attempt at a gopher hole, and a return to punching keys and reading text.

If you choose to check out the blog you'll notice that I've converted a personal Wordpress blog that I've kept over the years. Unfortunately, not all of the posts made it through the conversion, or have somehow suffered some form of "link-rot" over time--an awesomely terrible example of this can be seen in a multitude of posts that used to rely upon embed shortcodes of some now defunct wp-plugin. I'm scratching my head on a few of those posts... (It's like, looking at a scrapbook where half the pictures or trinkets have fallen out, and we're left staring at some sticker or blurb referencing the missing object...)

As for the blog, I'm going to try and edit where I can, in order to bring context back into focus. I'm likely going to also redact a few things here and there, as we are talking about a few posts having been written by a moronic twenty-something at the beginning.

Oh, well. Thanks for checking this out.
