Setting Up My Dotfiles or Something

2023-09-01 21:01:59Z (last updated 2023-10-16 08:55:03Z)

Hi! I am writing to you from this Dell XPS laptop I named "stupid-laptop". Yep, that's the hostname.

I didn't exactly buy this laptop (instead someone else bought it, then later bought another one, and didn't use this Dell laptop).

But I felt like documenting the setup of my dotfiles for no reason other than for myself.

Setting up the dotfiles

1. `cd $HOME`

2. `git --git-dir=.cfg/ --work-tree=. clone https://git.sr.ht/~jacksonchen666/dotfiles`

3. `git --git-dir=.cfg/ --work-tree=. reset --hard` (yeah I know, but I

don't know what else)

Install Oh my bash

5. Screw around with bashrc files until you figured it out

Install vim-plug

7. Install nodejs (for [coc.nvim])

8. Run `:PlugInstall` in `nvim` (or `vim`)

coc.nvim

And that's probably it.

Setting up other stuff

There was a few things I had to setup as well on this stupid-laptop:

`ssh-agent` (seems like some manual work for Alpine Linux)

Syncthing (part of my setup for password vaults and stuff)

SSH keys

PGP keys

Not much else. Don't use my dotfiles unless you want to become exactly me.
