Why Did I Bother Blogging in the First Place Anyways?

Short Answer: I just decided to start a blog and now I'm here.

The longer answer: Well, this has to do with the history of my website.

First, I created my website on 2020-02-26 because... I decided to create a website. It was first not on the domain I have today (I got it on 2020-10-03), but on the 000webhost thingy. (Not sure if I could recommend that anymore, just assume free is going to cost you your sanity and maybe you should get a real domain name instead (if you can afford it).)

Overtime, I changed my website. Quite a few times. But there was something missing.

I just had this website. It had nothing, and absolutely nothing at all. You could see a few pages, but that's it. It was a tiny website. I was getting nothing out of it. I just changed things, not add things.

So I decided to write my first blog post.

After that, well, over time, I have become more serious and serious with blogging, going from "yeah i'm just going to add something to my website" to "Oh, here's what I decided to do today, I'm going to document it just because.".

However, changing the site still hasn't stopped. Over the past 3 years of this website (pretty much the entire lifetime of the website), I have:

Switched to GitHub Pages for hosting (previously from like 000webhost)

Switched to jekyll (previously manually written HTML)

Changed my website theme to jekyll-hacker

Switched to GitLab Pages for hosting

Switched to hugo

Switched to sourcehut pages for hosting

Changed my website theme to something I made

Stopped using SASS for CSS

Switched to using my own self-hosted server for hosting

These events are kind of ordered by least recent to most recent, but recent events may not be correctly ordered.

Anyways, this got off topic. Woo.
