Trying out a new game:

Lost Pig round 2

After not having much luck with “Tangle”, I decided to go back to the list of games and try out some other ones to see if I would have any more luck. I tried “Planetfall” and just could not figure out the right action words to use in order to get anywhere, so I eventually I had to give that one up.

Eventually I switched back over to “Lost Pig”, because I found a pretty good guide for that game. This game is really funny because the language is really simple and the whole premise is just a pig that is lost and must be found by our character, Grunk. I decided to try out a bunch of simple directions to see if the pig was anywhere near, and it was funny because Grunk is just not allowed in most places due to his stupidity.

Somehow, I led Grunk to a large hole and he fell into it, so then I had to figure out how to get him out. I did finally get to a room with a fountain and managed to find the pig in there, and then I spent a great deal of time trying to follow the pig and catch it, but it was obviously not made to be that easy. I would follow the pig, it would run away, the pig would try to hide, the pig would try to eat something, etc. For some reason I just could not get this pig while I was in this room.

I also ended up in a statue room after trying out a bunch of other commands, and was hopeful that it would give me more clues for catching this pig. There was a gnome and there were a bunch of commands that I tried directed at the gnome, but none of them seemed to work, which makes me think that maybe I skipped a step and had to do something else in order to complete the actions related to the gnome. Eventually I tried so many commands that I ended up in a shelf room, so I tried to see what I could accomplish there. Unfortunately, all of the shelves were empty so I decided to try the closet.

After hearing lots of noises and obtaining a long green pole, I eventually made it to the correct gnome and I was able to complete all of those commands. I ended up talking to the gnome for a little while, because I wanted to try as many commands as possible.

Time got away from me. I spent maybe an hour and a half just playing this game and I had to cut myself off at some point, which was fine because Lagrange saves where I am at in the game, so I can go back and continue any time. What I have learned is that these games can get be addicting.
