As I’ve said again and again…

Having a small community is good.

Having the barrier to entry be technical competence is bad.

A small community is good

I even tried making an aggrator, Schapcom, that’d make Gemini even “smaller”.

Schapcom

I stopped using it (Gemini is still small enough) and I’m not even sure the code works anymore, but the idea was to be able to tighten your horizon a little bit. There’s some opportunity for discovery, while not being flooded by all content ever.

If Gemini becomes too big, I’ll dust it off.

Tech savvy is not a good “gate key”

I don’t wanna just read a bunch of nerd stuff from tech nerds. I wanna read things from all kinds of experiences and fields.

This is something that comes up again and again and again and again on Gemini. People keep conflating small=good (sure) with tech=good (noooo).
