2023-01-02 - To Say Nothing of the Dog (1998)

This book really hit the right spot for me. It has time travel to visit a cool era, Victorian England. It has a subtle but good sense of humor (unlike Good Omens and its "ugh duh that's a church but with satanists"), at least for my taste. And overall, it has a nice story, that you don't really care about but are happy to follow anyway. It is an easy read that carry its reader toward its end with a happy feeling.

The plot is about a time traveler having to look for a mysterious object that has disappeared from a cathedral during WWII bombing. But he ends up in the Victorian era, trying to figure it out from there, and fighting against the course of his action over the time continuum.

It's not the most intellectual book, but it's kind of the perfect bedside reading. Especially because I love characters time travelling into the past to look at a time with a fresh eye.
