New traffic laws, summer and my projects

I thought I'd be writing more often now that I've got a place to ramble in. Here goes.

The renewed traffic laws in Finland started today. There's a huge difference in the philosophy of the law. Previously cyclists were seen as a type of pedestrian. Now bikes are more like a proper vehicle, but with different rules in some cases (eg. bike lanes). Also, the yielding rules were too complex in the previous law. I think there was some upcoming streamlining but I'm not really sure now. I just quickly skimmed through the law yesterday.

The summer has arrived, too! The back yard is so nice and sunny and inviting. I've played a lot of tag with the kids... And of course there's some gardening for when you feel like it. Nothing is as important as gardening! (And it's not that important either, goes the proverb.) I also changed the swing seats in the playgrounds of our taloyhtiö on Saturday and went cycling on Sunday.

I've been working on a couple of free-time projects (which haven't really progressed).

a blog post (yes, web!) that's been almost complete for a week now

a PR to Zola with subresource identity support that's been almost ready for some days now

some ideas toward supporting non-HTML output in Zola

some Gemini software I'll tell more about later

Actually I wrote this just to work around my writer's block and to get that blog post out. I hope to get it out this morning, but realistically it might be another week. :)
