The Internet is for Threads and Instagram

We have created all this internet technology, have laid glassfiber cables across the world, built server farms and data centers, crazy Kubernetes clusters, containers and self-healing services. Elon Musk shoots thousands of Starlink satellites into the orbit... (exaggerating)

To deliver photos of Instagram stars across the globe - along with loads of social media, porn, consumer goods, material presents because Christmas, etc.

Imagine a 20-something girl, slender figure, 1 to 2 hours of make up, who positions herself in front of her "made for Intagram" lighting and camera equipment and shoots photos. So artificial - and their bodies and figures and make-up say nothing really. They could be advertising for some leggings, for some makeup, whatever.

There are thousands upon thousands such "Instagram stars" just posting images of themselves posing.

We have really come far as a humanity... not.

Deliver them the emotions they seek and the path to get there - digital or physical goods, experiences ... anything - and the followers will come.

So there is a market somewhere, which is even more of a shame.

Economics experts say correctly "If consumers would stop consuming, the world economic system would break down." Problem is, there are so many useless time-wasters out there, which people keep buying.

So is the shame in the one offering useless shallow stuff or the one buying it, or both?

What really matters is not the blinking, bright and shiny stuff in the storefront. It is the deep life-changing experiences and epiphanies on each one's personal journeys - and all the small steps in between.
