I guess picture first, then the explainations... -=> 2023-06-23_baby-pumpkins.jpg +=> media/2023-06-23_baby-pumpkins.jpg These pumpkin plants climed their way out of their seeds at the bottom of a compost bucket to the surface. after a few days of thinking I decided a semi-shaded pile of leaves from last fall would be a good spot for them. carefully took them out, separated them, and planted them. I try to keep them watered-ish, but I don't want to mess with them too much or I might fuck it up. -=> 2023-06-23_blackberries-far.jpg -=> 2023-06-23_blackberries-close.jpg +=> media/2023-06-23_blackberries-far.jpg +=> media/2023-06-23_blackberries-close.jpg These blackberries grow wild around here. Still not sure yet if they're worth the effort of avoiding thorns the rest of the year. -=> 2023-06-23_tomats-in-blocks.jpg +=> media/2023-06-23_tomats-in-blocks.jpg I had put some leftover bits of tomato from dinner the other week into a container with some potting soil and forgot about it. Checked the other day and saw these little boogers actually growing. Last fall I put up some fence and decided it was going to be sensitive-plant-space and started putting cardboard and leaf mulch from where the pumpkins are. I figured putting some cinder blocks in there as kind of, deconstructable and bottomless containers might work really well. -=> 2023-06-23_volunteer-pumpkin.jpg +=> media/2023-06-23_volunteer-pumpkin.jpg This pumpkin is inside the same fenced in area that the tomats are now in. I was clearing the tall grass from the fenced area and stumbled upon them. I figure a pumpkin got thrown in there at some point in the last year. I don't remember. -=> 2023-06-23_yang-and-potat.jpg +=> media/2023-06-23_yang-and-potat.jpg The yangs (unyins) and potats were also leftover food stuck into flower pots. I think I might put them in the same area the tomats are in.
