The pandemic blues have fully reached me and I have not felt enthused about things lately. I have only barely glanced at gemini and gopher (and spent even less time on the web). I have not felt like programming very much, or really even using a computer... though I did spend an hour the other night implementing Conway's Game of Life in golang, since I had done so in python and lua, but never go.

So what have I been doing? I have been trying to figure out a way to get some farmable land for me and my family. Or shy of that, a small plot with a small house that we can set up a garden at. We have had three offers fall through for various reasons. All three were under an acre and in the mountains. We have started to shift to off grid properties with existing structures. We'll see what happens...

When not consumed with work, playing with my toddler, or dealing with house stuff I have been cooking. Kind of a lot.

Recent favorites have been (all of the below are vegan):

Biscuits

Pancakes

Ghetto chana masala

Vegan bengan bartha (in an instapot)

Masoor dal

Chapati (a quick flat bread that is awesome)

Black bean burgers

Potato salad

Corn bread

Kichidi (in an instapot)

Burrito bowls

I think I'll come back and edit those list items into links to the recipes (or approximations of what I did to make them). But for now I'll just leave it as a list until I work up the energy to write up recipes. I think the best of the best was the chapati with the bengan bartha, really good combination. I have made biscuits every week for the past few weeks and having a bag of biscuits to snack from has been really nice. With all of this food, a lot of it being dough based, I wonder if I should talk to acdw about getting a breadpunk account to use as a base of operations for recipes I have been enjoying. I shall do that I think.
