I don't think it's necessarily good to fixate on the end of the world, or the collapse of society. It isn't a way to produce good creative or technical work You need to be able to look up, not down. I think a lot of people on here do that, and it's a way to rationalize, or find a use for, low tech stuff. But honestly, before we build computers with 6502s and forth, life will slowly get more and more hander. But, that's on the scale of centuries.

The point is, don't worry much about the apocalypse or the end of society. Make now better and do what you can with a short human life.
