Ephemeral networks

On SSB there is some interaction going on between me and Solene about sticking to data and P2P or federated social networks. I think it would be good to have more stuff not depend on everything sticking around like forever, although I very well know that stuff can be hold on to by basically anything. That said I think if we have a morality of privacy but are technically forced to hold on to everything, that might not be the greatest idea either...

I would love to see some views about how you view online social interaction and persistence/ephemerality! If you are on SSB, maybe try to find that thread and interact there, otherwise feel free to post on your piece of geminispace and I will probably see it/find it over time.
