The plague may have got me. Or it's allergies. Or a cold. All I know is I've been feeling run down, scratchy throat, and having weird dreams (Tom cruise fighting some alien plant invasion, and also my arms flailing about like rubber and having no control over them) and my inner ears are over pressured and I get dizzy laying down/getting up. Not normal. I took two of the covid tests uncle Sam helpfully sent us for free and they both were negative. Our friends that host the Fri night gaming group all got covid and we just finally had a session after 3 weeks off for quarantine. Maybe covid? Seriously at least 6 of my gamer friends have had covid recently. It is making the rounds.

The sucky thing is my phone finally bit the dust so I had to venture out. For various reasons that mostly revolve around corporate greed, my older but perfectly functional phone fan afoul of the 3g "update". Don't ask me why my 4g phone is classified as a 3g device, it still makes no sense to me. The service provider is just trying to make people buy phones from them and discouraging less profitable "bring your own phone" customers. Greedy, and environmentally unsound. I found a fix online that let me squeeze a couple more months out of it, but I knew it was going to crap out in June and apparently last night was the night. So I have a new phone and just for funsies I'm going to see how long I can go without signing into Google. My old phone works fine as a wifi device for browsing/apps, so I can keep those invasive apps off my new phone and try to de-google myself. Sounds amusing and spiteful, why not?

Anyway i had to get this new phone, different manufacturer, and the keyboard sucks even more than the old one. But hey, maybe I can have a fresh mobile start instead of copying old settings and data over and over? I figured out how to get apps without using the play store. Good start.

Other Cat is doing better. I started making sure to give her wet foods in the morning and she has perked up. Last night she ventured out into the backyard and was trying to catch little bugs in the grass and it was ADORABLE. She's been coming up and asking for cuddles. Acting more like normal.

There's been a lot of clown world garbage going on lately. I haven't said anything about it because there's not much to say. There's no surprise, it's terribly predictable. Fascism is coming to take a big ol' shit on what we took for granted. I find myself much less interested in the big crazy picture of horrible things I can't control and more interested in smaller, local stuff where I might be able to help. It's just going to be awful for a while. But with good friend connections, good neighbor connections, maybe we can scrape together enough positives to keep going. We gotta huddle around what we want to protect. This is a test of what we truly value.
