We're in the thick of it now. Boxes everywhere. All the art and such off the walls. They say the movers will pack for us, but we boxed stuff up ourselves anyway just to make it go faster and keep things organized (who wants strangers boxing their stuff?). Trying to figure out what we can do without for 3 months, balanced by what we want to haul around the airport. We are having trouble getting stuck thinking like poor people. The last time we moved I was trying to make so many decisions about what was cheaper to toss and repurchase, vs what was worth the weight/space. Don't have to do that this time. It's super weird. Holy shit, we're not really poor anymore.

So glad the kitties are safe in anchorage. Our friend sends us pictures, including one of him petting Other Cat, which is impressive considering how shy she can be. She let him pet her once in the long long ago, before we moved. The kitties are very much missed but this would be no fun for them.

We have one more full day before the movers come. Then we'll have no bed, no lamps, no TV, no furniture, etc.

I'm tired. A good kind of tired, but still tired. I really hope all goes well, because damn I want to move into the little house and feel like a real person. I've started contemplating paint colors. I know that's dangerous, I'll be crossing my fingers until they hand us the physical keys.

I may not have much time for updates for a while.
