Covid has gotten to spouse's parents house. Spouse's niece, who is currently 4 months pregnant and living there, tested positive.

Nobody in the house is vaccinated. Delta variant is about 50% of cases in Alaska.

So that puts spouse's parents, his older sister and her boyfriend, and potentially her three adult children and the oldest's two young kids, plus their significant others and any other hangers on, at risk. Not worried about the younger members of the household, but spouse's parents and older sister are for sure in bad health. They are over an hour's drive from the nearest hospital in Soldatna, and over two hour's drive from Anchorage.

I mean, what can you do? The dominoes were set in motion 18 months ago. They had plenty of time to reconsider and take it serious.

Spouse says, if there's a funeral, do I even take the risk to go? If I insist on masking and staying 6 feet away, there's going to be a fight. You can blame me, I said. Tell them I put my foot down and won't let you fly out.

Can't do anything but hope they get lucky and sail through. Spouse's mom says she's going to treat everyone with natural remedies. Okie doke.
