I was convinced the flea market would be cancelled due to wind so instead of making product we went over to the local vaccine site, got on a waitlist and got called in for the first shot that afternoon. Feeling slight symptoms, but 50/50 chance I've forgotten my meds and it's just allergies. Easy peasy. I get the second shot in 3 weeks.

The flea market was not cancelled. But I slacked off and made no additional product, plus it was still cool and breezy this morning, so I wasn't feeling up to vending. Spouse and I went over there to see what was up. I haven't been to a flea market in a long time. Basically a neighborhood yard sale/outdoor thrift store, lots of used and leftover stuff, but sometimes you find the odd gem someone will sell for $1. There was a lady with crochet stuff and another lady with very very super christian kinda scary art, and those were the only handmade goods. I found a tattoo book that seems decent with good photos. The funny thing is I think one of the featured artists in the book ended up tattooing in Anchorage and hosted a few drink 'n draws I attended (until he downsized his shop space and there was no large area for a gathering). Small world. Super talented artist, nice guy, would absolutely love to get tattooed by him someday.

So the flea market probably isn't the greatest vending venue for me, and $30 is kinda steep when you're trying to sell to people looking for dollar bargains, but it's an easy option if I have nothing else lined up. Not sorry I missed the one today.

The local arts center has opened up a call for vendors for their "arts and farmer's market" (these guys make me roll my eyes so hard - call for "fine craft artisans", not those dirty lowbrow crafter peasants with their modge podge and pipe cleaners, snooty mcsnooty snoot - you better believe I will judge the hell out of what they consider "fine craft artisans"), so I jumped on that. If I do one of those in June and one in July, that should be pretty good. $50 an event but likely an arts friendly crowd. Plus, only a mile walk away.

I have sent an email shamelessly begging the bellydancer fairy themed event to let me vend. That's a June 5th event. Fingers crossed.

I found a little local comic convention happening June 12. $56 a booth for a one day event. Applied to that. Probably not the greatest attendance but whatever, nerds will be there, I'm down. I can do fantasy/geek themed stuff for both the fairy event and the comic convention, and that sounds fun.

So that means potentially 3 events in June. That's plenty. There's another farmer's swap (same event I just did) in June, if I really want to push it.

I want to figure out how to get on with this women's market closer to the big city and maybe do that a couple times in May.

So things are looking busy. Good good good. I'll be 100% vaccinated and ready to rock by June.
