- My Sunday theory holds. Yesterday I took my walk and everyone seemed cranky - nobody did the neighbor nod thing. Generally when people don't want to interact they look at the ground or off to one side and you get the hint. Maybe it's their hermit chill time, maybe they've been burned by weirdos, that's cool, no worries. But these people stare right through you and even when you give a nod it's like you're offending them by taking up space in front of their eyeballs. There was a couple with fancy cameras with large professional lenses. Cool, photographers, I thought, fellow artists. I may as well have been made of dog turds, just dead eyed zombie expressions as they stared at me. Like, wow, I bet your photos are shit. I was wondering what was going on and then I remembered it was Sunday. There's no other reason for it as far as I can tell. I don't wear rude shirts. I'm not flashing scandalous cleavage or, god forbid, bare knees. Race is out - I'm white and so were the photographers and the majority of the people on the path. Sunday just brings out the jerks. I kinda don't want to walk on Sundays any more. People are nice on other days.

- No otter. Did see a little baby turtle, haven't seen baby turtles before.

- Contemplating working with powder coatings for custom spot painting effects. Can't do it in an apartment. Would have to get toaster oven just for powder coating, etc. Would be an investment. Imagine trying to do it on the balcony, lol no. Still, am intrigued. They use powder paints for fishing lures (heat the hook, dip in powder paint, heat it again, bam, durable paint coat). Think about all the gorgeous colors fishing lures come in. Maybe down the line, after we move, maybe could mess around with it. Could be fun. Could be.

It's that or possibly airbrushing. I'm just interested in potential customizations. Airbrushing has always struck me as exceedingly messy and fussy so I haven't dabbled. But I will have to investigate durable paint options, etc.

I got some nice water bottles to engrave that have a lovely ombre gradient powder coating, but these fools don't offer the color combos I would really like, and half the color combos they have are not attractive to me. I like strong, dark colors. Plus dark colors work better for engraving through the coating because the engraving is bright and shiny. So it would be pretty cool to have the option of adding my own custom touches of color. Normal paint is unlikely to be durable enough. I'm just pondering. Brain feelers.

- I wasted a whole bunch of time painting these wood display risers, getting them absolutely perfect with 5 different colors of paint plus wood stain, all carefully masked off and sanded, like 6 coats of this crap paint to get it solid, and I get to the last step where I seal them with a clear spray paint and guess what, cat hair. Static cling cat hair I can't see until I start spraying. Plastered on the side of my perfectly painted thing. Hope my downstairs neighbor wasn't home because there was some cursing.
