I finally met my trainer at the boulder yesterday. We discussed about the way I currently climb and he convinced me into going "up" as well (I usually climb horizontally). He also pointed out some of the technical failures I keep doing, as well as teaching me a few tricks. I still have a long way to go, but it was time well spent. I had to stop due to a bruise in my hand that wouldn't allow me keep going (nothing important, but I was bleeding so I had to wash it and all). The most interesting things that I learned are mostly about resistance and using more "leg strength". I learned this amazing side-position in which I use the power of my leg to reach a far hold, I really liked this one, although I still fail to do it naturally. I will repeat it until I get it, though!

We also did a dictation exercise. It's basically that the trainer tell me what to reach or where to put my feet, while I just try to follow this directions using some tactical thought. I still suck at this but at least I didn't trip.

Finally going up was a little menacing. I already did it once, but I kind of freeze after ten meters or so, so I was uncomfortable letting the trainer know. Although he asked me a more complicated path and I forgot about the height! nevertheless I will purchase a harness to keep practicing on my own.

Anyway, happy to be finally guided by a professional. I hope to be a teacher myself, someday. Let's work for that!
