2023-09-21 - World Gratitude Day

September 21st is World Gratitude Day. The list of people to whom I, as the originator of Gemini, owe a debt of gratitude is obviously huge, and includes every single person who has shown even the slightest amount of faith in this project, because without all of you collectively this whole thing could easily have never amounted to more than an obscure corner of Gopherspace describing a protocol implemented by half a dozen people.

Without wanting to in any way diminish the real and many contribution made by everybody else, this year I would like to say a special thanks to the many people who continue to freely give their time, energy, and in some cases money to run ongoing services in Geminispace which are used not just by themselves but by the entire community, or at least by large parts of it. To everybody who runs a search engine, an archiver, a research/statistics crawler, an aggregator, a game, a social service, or a hosting provider: thank you! Our community is very lucky to have such people in it.
