It is February 2023 and this is basically "Hello World" to learn Gemini. As far as I can see the "Legacy Web" is doomed - by *requiring* me to let that random server run programs on *my* (client-) computer!
There is not much I have to tell the world. So the only content (yet) is converted from the to-be-offlined-soon keybase.pub service:
While my native language is German I tend to write a lot in English - I am a Computer Science Engineer.
The options for Gemtext (https://gemini.circumlunar.space/docs/cheatsheet.gmi) are just too restricted.
How can I create a bullet list of links? How can I embed a working link as in the line above?
No emphasized/bold/italic text?
where is defined that the rendered text in a browser does fill only the middle third of my wide screen display? This is... stupid. These restrictions are not (only) beneficial but also archaic and disturbing. :-(
This instance is using Agate to serve my files. Agate is a server for the Gemini network protocol, built with the Rust programming language. Agate has very few features, and can only serve static files.
Regarding Gemini:
Some pages I found interesting:
classic EMail via " gemini (ät) udoburghardt.de "
Mastodon as @udob@chaos.social = https://chaos.social/@udob
possibly more: https://keyoxide.org/hkp/udo@udoburghardt.de
