You are skiing backwards down a bumpy slope. This is a very bad idea, but you're doing it anyway. If you go too fast or too slow, or too far to the left or right, you will fall off your skis. Instead, you should try to keep a good pace and get down the slope as fast as you can.


You will make S's down the slope; use the input link to alternate between turning left and right to control your descent. You will accelerate quicker when going directly down.


The slope is not straight, so you will have to pay attention to the terrain. The display indicates how the terrain differs from a straight slope. Essentially, it shows lines of a relief map using arrows pointing in the direction of descent. If you use colour, it will also indicate height with red being highest and blue lowest. '*' and '.' indicate the highest and lowest areas respectively. The player is represented by '@'. For example, here we see the player swerving away from a peak towards some low ground which quickly rises again to the right (this is much easier to read with colour):
