> Layoffs and studio closures continue to hit the video game industry hard. In the first four months of the year, the numbers are very alarming and almost equal to last year. Apparently, a whole division of a company will close for good.

> The tech giant recently terminated its contract for nearly 40,000 square feet at the Perimeter Four building on Carrington Mill Boulevard. And it has another nearly 40,000 square feet available for sublease in the office park.

> Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) declined to answer questions about the move. Nor would it say how many employees it currently has in the region, though two years ago public records showed it had more than 2,500 workers in the state.

Microsoft is shutting down more offices (there have been layoffs every month this year). If you aren't hearing much - or not seeing anything at all - about this matter, well... that's a symptom of media failing to do its job.
