21:14 DaemonFC; They run the engine hard and they get a lot of power out of it, but they don't last very long.

21:15 DaemonFC; Pilots in the second world war had a procedure they could use to run the engine hard and try to get away from someone behind them that was shooting at them. Sometimes it worked and sometimes the engine blew up.

21:17 DaemonFC; After the war, we just started copying everything that they had.

22:20 DaemonFC; So you go to a shop and replace it with a new one, you might have more performance from the system, but you also have a $500-600 bill from the shop.

22:24 DaemonFC; If it's an old car you can vacuum the old R-134a and whatever is contaminating it out of the system (if it's got leaks, stuff is getting IN) and then do a vacuum test, and see if it holds pressure.
22:24 DaemonFC; Then you refill with the proper amount, plus a trace amount of UV dye.

22:24 DaemonFC; Then if it continues leaking, you can come back and shine a black light in there and see where the refrigerant is leaking and you know which hose to replace or if you need a new compressor.
