06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; [06:33] <DaemonFC> Could explain why he's digging around in his retirement.

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; [06:33] <DaemonFC> Shitshow unfolding.

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; [06:33] <DaemonFC> :P

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; [06:34] <DaemonFC> COVID shots or worse?

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; no context here

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; but

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; let's just say..

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; i posted in my blog yesterday

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; 2 videos

06:34 schestowitz[TR2]; here in the uk there is intrigue

06:35 schestowitz[TR2]; as people see reports about surge in

06:35 schestowitz[TR2]; 1) heart events

06:35 schestowitz[TR2]; 2) cancer events

06:35 schestowitz[TR2]; but to demonstrate the connection to any vaccine is hard\

06:35 schestowitz[TR2]; and the system is biased against your assertions

06:35 DaemonFC; Digging around in his retirement to pay for all the health problems that didn't start up until he kept taking those damned shots, is what I'm guessing.

06:35 DaemonFC; Also, complains that there's nobody hiring.

06:36 schestowitz[TR2]; yes

06:36 schestowitz[TR2]; but don't make reference to people

06:36 schestowitz[TR2]; i saw the same days ago

06:36 schestowitz[TR2]; or a day ago

06:36 schestowitz[TR2]; it sort of adds uo

06:36 schestowitz[TR2]; or does not, fiscally

06:36 *Noisytoot (~noisytoot@tkbibjhmbkvb8.irc) has joined #techbytes

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; the cost of one ER visit can be a small home

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; depending on what they do in ER

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; no real regulations pertining to cost afaik

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; you go in there

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; come out with "surprise bills"

06:37 DaemonFC; Yes, it is not cheap. Even if they do absolutely nothing you'll leave with a bill that could be over $20,000.

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; i think the us wanted to pass laws related to those "surprises"

06:37 DaemonFC; The doctor walked in and walked out and that's $20,000.

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; some people leavee

06:37 schestowitz[TR2]; and then sell the home

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; to pay the bill

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; and the underlying conditions are not solved

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; so another visit is probably

06:38 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR2]: You DO NOT go to the ER unless you believe that you will probably die.

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; that's why many take insurance

06:38 DaemonFC; Nobody sane would.

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; but it is not cheaop

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; esp. when there is no income

06:38 DaemonFC; So saying "I'm fine." makes this truly, unlikely.

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; i'm alive

06:38 schestowitz[TR2]; not the same as fine

06:39 schestowitz[TR2]; fine for now

06:39 schestowitz[TR2]; we know this is chronic

06:39 DaemonFC; Right, why would you go into an American ER if you're fine?

06:39 schestowitz[TR2]; not a new thing

06:39 schestowitz[TR2]; not a one-off

06:39 schestowitz[TR2]; anyway, back to techrights now

06:39 *Noisytoot has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s)

06:39 DaemonFC; It's not some thing where if it's a false alarm they're just going to tell you to have a nice day and give you a lollipop on the way out.

06:39 DaemonFC; You're fucked.

06:40 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR2]: Did I mention they ran a credit check on me without my permission before they saw me at the Physical Therapy center?

06:41 schestowitz[TR2]; did they?

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; what are the consequences for them?

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; if you prove they did this?

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; tbh, i don't trust GPs too much

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; esp. because of their PCs

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; they feed a lot of data

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; into Windows

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; Microsdoft, palantir etc.

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; i tell them stuff if they REALLY need to know

06:42 schestowitz[TR2]; but not stuff that they need not know

06:43 schestowitz[TR2]; basically just about enough to get the job done

06:43 *Noisytoot (~noisytoot@tkbibjhmbkvb8.irc) has joined #techbytes

06:43 schestowitz[TR2]; but trust in privacy at nhs is eroding

06:43 schestowitz[TR2]; because of their "big data" deal

06:43 schestowitz[TR2]; se.g.

06:43 schestowitz[TR2]; http://techrights.org/n/2023/11/23/Privatisation_Catastrophe_Starting_with_NHS_England_Microsoft_a.shtml

06:46 DaemonFC; [00:42] <schestowitz[TR2]> if you prove they did this?

06:46 DaemonFC; I didn't give them permission.

06:49 schestowitz[TR2]; is there a law peraining to consent?

06:49 schestowitz[TR2]; *taining

06:50 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR2]: They must have a legally permissible purpose before doing a soft pull.

06:50 DaemonFC; They did a soft pull.

06:50 DaemonFC; I'm going to freeze my credit reports again.

06:52 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR2]: If you call Experian they'll just hand you off to someone in the Philippines who they pay very little to get rid of you.

06:54 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR2]: This really pisses me off that to see a doctor they run your credit first.

06:54 DaemonFC; What happens if they don't like what they see?

06:54 schestowitz[TR2]; i have no idea, but similar things exist here

06:54 schestowitz[TR2]; like, when you open a bank account

06:55 schestowitz[TR2]; they run searches on your ID

06:55 schestowitz[TR2]; from some unkknown third party

06:55 schestowitz[TR2]; and who knows what they check, how to appeal etc.

06:55 schestowitz[TR2]; they just issue some genetic statement

07:01 *Noisytoot (~noisytoot@tkbibjhmbkvb8.irc) has joined #techbytes

07:01 DaemonFC; I contacted the billing department through MyChart.

07:06 DaemonFC; schestowitz[TR2]: That's ChexSystems here.

07:06 DaemonFC; You end up in there on the naughty list for a few reasons.

07:06 DaemonFC; They don't really give a shit how many bank accounts you open, but they log if they had an incentive.

07:07 DaemonFC; If you open too many that have incentives and then ditch the bank and move on, eventually they may start denying you a bank account.

07:07 DaemonFC; It's the same if you bounce checks, but obviously that's much worse.

07:07 DaemonFC; Like most negative account information, it remains for 7 years from the incident.

07:07 DaemonFC; So eventually you do have them "fall off" and lenders and other banks can't see that one anymore.

07:08 DaemonFC; It's designed so that if you have a phase of your life where bad shit happens, the years go by and if you pay your bills and don't do anything "bad" then it hurts you less and less until finally there's no negative information anymore (hopefully).

07:09 DaemonFC; So if you're 35 and you had some bad credit card charge-offs when you were 27, then those aren't listed anymore.

07:09 DaemonFC; If the bad shit happened all around the same time, it'll fall off around the same time.

07:10 DaemonFC; Their goal is that after spending some time in the dog house, you'll pay your bills, stop getting lumps, and they'll want to do business with you again.

07:11 DaemonFC; The bankruptcies stay on your credit report for 10 years. But the accounts that went bad go away 7 years after the first delinquency.

07:12 DaemonFC; So if you became delinquent on all your cards in January 2020 for example, but filed bankruptcy in August 2020, then the credit cards would fall off your credit report by December 2026, but the bankruptcy wouldn't until July 2030.

07:12 DaemonFC; They all hurt you separately and combined.

07:12 DaemonFC; So by the time the negative accounts fall off, your credit score isn't severely affected by the bankruptcy anymore.

07:13 DaemonFC; More damage was being done by the computed score damage of like 11 credit cards and an auto loan, and maybe a mortgage and some medical bills, then just the fact you filed bankruptcy.

07:14 DaemonFC; This also means you need to look and make sure they didn't make any mistakes. I had one credit card bank (Citi) that continued reporting negative information after the bankruptcy was discharged on Experian, which is illegal.

07:14 DaemonFC; I complained to Experian and they removed the entire negative account history, including all the late payments and the Charge Off.

07:15 DaemonFC; KIA wasn't in their office during COVID, and I disputed the accuracy of that, and it fell off two out of my three reports (Transunion and Equifax).

07:16 DaemonFC; Capital One? I had a $16,000 card that defaulted by the time they charged it off, but they sold it to a collection agency, and I disputed it asking who actually owned the account in May, and they just went ahead and removed the entire account.

07:16 DaemonFC; So you're not going to fix everything that way, but it certainly won't hurt.

07:17 DaemonFC; It's 2-3 less adverse accounts following you around, or at least a partial fix (Citi deleting 6 months of Negative Information).

07:18 DaemonFC; The lender can choose to get back in and delete the negative information, or the entire negative account. The only thing they are not allowed to do is continue reporting new negative information after you FILE for bankruptcy and get the automatic stay.

07:18 DaemonFC; So they can only modify that account trade-line in ways that benefit or at least don't hurt you.

07:18 DaemonFC; If they do anything after that which hurts you, they broke the law.

07:19 DaemonFC; There's no law that says a lender can't remove adverse information from your credit report after-the-fact.

07:19 DaemonFC; They just very rarely do it.

07:20 DaemonFC; Whoever owns the account can generally put whatever they want on your report as long as it's true and doesn't violate the bankruptcy or credit reporting laws.

07:20 DaemonFC; So even though they're not supposed to, sometimes they make agreements where you pay and they'll delete.

07:20 DaemonFC; But you need to get it in writing that that's what they promise to do.

07:21 DaemonFC; The credit bureaus don't like it, but they can't do much about it.

07:21 DaemonFC; From their point of view, they're selling data on you that "helps others make risk assessments".

07:22 DaemonFC; With pay-for-delete agreements, the risk assessment becomes less accurate because you've literally paid someone to delete it.

07:22 DaemonFC; After you go bankrupt, you are a huge risk. But some lenders don't care.

07:23 DaemonFC; They deal exclusively with these.

07:23 DaemonFC; Your inbox will explode with bad credit offers.

07:23 DaemonFC; Like used cars at 27% down at the Toyota dealer.

07:24 DaemonFC; Most people who sign those lose the car, but they don't care.

07:24 DaemonFC; They'll sell the car again while they go after you for a lot of money and you don't have the car.

07:25 DaemonFC; The higher the interest rate, the more likely you are to lose the car.

07:25 DaemonFC; So you need to really be laser focused on "if I do need a car loan, let's see how long I can drive the clunker".

07:26 DaemonFC; The longer you can delay, the less the bankruptcy hurts you when this car craps out and you need a new one.

07:26 DaemonFC; If you can get it to 9% instead of 27%, you may at least own the car someday.
