●● Yet Another (But Very Colossal) GPL Violation by Microsoft

Posted in Deception, Free/Libre Software, GPL, Microsoft at 5:44 pm by Dr. Roy Schestowitz

In 1:04:00 of this Zurich talk, GNU’s founder RMS blasted Microsoft’s GitHub over licensing misuse/abuse and now we know Microsoft also uses GitHub for mass infringement of the GPL (or luring others into GPL violations) in order to help it sell proprietary software that spies on users

Accusations of serious GPL violations has been circulating for nearly a week (some of the latest coverage)

Summary: We’ve lost track of all the times Microsoft got caught red-handed with GPL violations (this has gone on for well over a decade), but now they’re doing that at a really vast scale, this time with the “hey hi” flag as an excuse for doing so

Bonus: Turns out Julia Reda is a Microsoft apologist in this case. And she signed the anti-FSF petition (personified as anti-RMS). Common agenda? She was one of the earliest signers.
