How do you release such crap?

I honestly don't get it. I've been a software developer for over two decades and I've never published such broken code.

I had a Roomba for a few years. Worked great and never seemed to have any problems. That was until it freaked out the dogs and...ate something it shouldn't have 💩. Rather than shelling out nearly a grand for a replacment I opted go try out the Shark version of a robot vacuum. From day one it's never been that great but I hoped once an update was released they would fix issues like never being able to order the cleaning of a specific room.

Well an update came out and all that was updated was the face of the UI. The rest of the functionality got so much worse that beyond just telling to vacuum everywhere, its nearly rendered useless. The map lost all rooms, history never reports anything, and telling it to clean a specific room sends the robot off to clean anywhere but that room. How could they have released this update when it broke everything? Forums and Play Store comments filled with complaints that they can no longer clean their home due to this change. Its like when you try a new food that tastes like garbage amd you ask yourself, who in their right mind tried this and thought yeah this will sell. Who ever was the project manager is, they failed at their job.
