utm mbpm1pro14 late to the party again - 2022-02-19

i saved my pennies and now i have a macbook pro m1pro 14:-) i moved on my last mbp about 18 months ago for i9 imac. fortunately i moved on my intel imac to part fund move to laptop apple silicon.

i was settled with desktops and ipad for mobile but an upcoming change of living circumstances took me back to a laptop (portable, less room needed, flexible with bigger display attached).

i really, really, love the battery life of the mbpm1pro14, along with the keyboard, screen, speed. as with any cpu family change for an os i'm sure more work ahead, but more and more tools available natively.

work to do to get my tools together again and replace some that don't work no more (virtualbox for ex.).

found utm yesterday so running debian 10 and xfce in a utm virtual machine:-) utm seems not that stable:-( it does crash from time to time: hopefully it will improve but in the mean time; such promise!

next step is to take debian 10 to 11 in utm to see if i can:-)

2022-02-19 - UTM, a full featured system emulator and virtual machine host for iOS and macOS; based off of QEMU.

update 2022-02-19... later that day!

- debian 10 in utm survived a freeze and rude shutdown from utm mid upgrade.

- debian 10 rebooted into debian 11 after upgrade

- debian 11 running:-)
