as one door closes, another opens.... sometimes.

my asrock b450 fatality itx build could not cope with thi 3900x and my planned upgrade asus b550-i arrived today.

asus b550-i

latest bios 2401

850 watt psu

amd 3900x cpu

16 gb ram

512 gb pci 4.0 m2

512 gb pci 3.0 m2 (not yet used)

thermaltake core v1 case

ubuntu 20.04 LTS - i messed up adding steam and another package so overwrote.

pop_os - i really did try to like gnome but really i hate it - also much of outhe box claims for pop_os is not apparently true.

xubuntu 21.04 - back where i belong:-)

i will need some days to establish temperatures.

new install with old disk attached to copy files over as i need.
