i have established (for me a least) that squatting is one of the natural human ways to sit and that chairs are actively harmful to human health. not the mainstream view but i find it well supported by research and science.
over the last few months i have experimented with various squatting working desks and this current version is now to release candidate standard. i used affordable 'russian ply' (according to the wood yard) offcuts from another home project:rounded edges, sanded, 3 coats varnish (but only the top, working surface).
at 194 cm i'm tall so the squatting desk may be too high for a shorter person.
i squat, squat on a yoga cushion, kneel, crouch, changing positions from time to time. i took months of gradually building more squatting into my day and working habits - rushing changes in our physical activity may result in injury! my other desk is a standing desk, so i have variety lol!
