First real post on this gemlog thing, I don't really know what kind of content I want to write here but to get started I think I might write a short monthly update of things that I want to push forward, not as a regular to-do list in a productive way, but more like a collection of stuff to pick randomly to explore or experiments.
Let see how it goes.
Sound of light is an interactive audio installation that reacts to light. It's an old project I never really published online. It uses a combination of Arduino Processing and Ableton, 3 things I wish to practice more. Recently I kind of resurrected it from the dead and putted it on my wall again (you know with the lockdown and all...). I don't know yet if I want to tweak it, but at least I would like to archive here somewhere and I think a small article describing how it works might be more interesting than only pictures and videos.

Orca is kind of a programming language that create procedural sequencer. It' also one of my latest discovery on the internet, or more like a chained multi-discoveries (all links below).
First I stumbled upon Hundredrabbits website via Marijn's linkroll (which is a collection of quite interesting 'hypertext curiosities'). Hundredrabbits are actually the persons behind Orca so it could have been the end of it but then I digged a bit more and found Merveilles.town which is a Mastodon Instance filled with people that seems to be either musician, artist, engineer or a mix of the 3.
On this instance I heard about Monome who are 2 persons designing their own electronic instruments (I want to build their DIY Norns) and have a community forum of music passionate. Later I discovered another forum about experimental a/v called Scanlines (I still needs to explore this one a bit more)
Anyway, the idea here is to practice a bit and maybe release a tune or a at least a short loop using Orca.
Later I might want to try to make a midi visualizer with processing to plug to it.

From time to time I open Ableton and try to make a track that I never finish or publish anywhere.
The idea is to add a section on my website dedicated to these unfinished audio snippets that I can publish quickly. Maybe it can also be a pretext to make some cover as well.
