If you haven't read this book yet, it's high time for you to read it. Harari's most well-known bestseller puts light on our place in this world as a species and how we ended up here.

Max Tegmark: "Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" (2017)

Life 3.0 is a must-read for anyone interested in space colonialization or AI written by the physicist, MIT professor and Future of Life Institute co-founder Max Tegmark. It discusses mainly the future of life and sentience after the development of Artificial General Intelligence from short term consequences to the colonialization and utilization of the universe. It ponders when AGI will be developed, if at all, and how our co-existence will look like.

George Orwell: Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949)

There's no way you haven't heard about this dystopia of Orwell. But isn't it fun how big tech corporations can gather approximately as much information about us as the Soviet Union has intel about it's citizens in 1984? Soon we will be just a button press away from living in an Orwellian dystopia.

Agustina Bazterrica: Tender is the Flesh (2017)

Tender is the Flesh is a thought-provoking novel set in a dystopian cannibalist society. Its protagonist, Marcos, works at a slaughterhouse so that he could pay for his fathers place in a retirement home. The moral conflict between Marcos's views, his job and the state of the world is one of the most interesting elements in the story.

Hollow Knight (2017)

Hollow Knight is an indie metroidvania game developed by Team Cherry. It offers rewarding (some would say even soulslike) combat, platforming challenges and above all a big and diverse world to explore. Hollow Knights worldbuilding is great even though it consists of scarce dialogs and hard-to-decipher lore. You could ask nothing more from a game - except for a sequel.
