Homebrew are games made for gaming consoles and computer systems by individuals or indie developers rather than commercial game developers and publishers. Think retro gaming and programming enthusiast making something in their spare time for fun kind of thing. Making homebrew for retro systems is quite popular and you can find plenty of new games being made even for rather old and obscure ones. There is a A LOT of homebrew out there and its all over the place on various websites. Many of these hombrew games are unfinished, not very good or just very short experiences. Below you will find what I consider my favorite homebrews that I've played and think are worth experiencing. It is not an exhaustive or best list and will be tilted towards my own gaming and genre preferences. I have a lot of homebrew that I've downloaded and have yet to play so as I play them I will slowly add to this list the ones I think are worth telling you about.
