Spending Time Outside

Being outside on a beatiful day really can do wonders for your mind. At least it almost always does for mine. Spending it with the whole family back together again finally with my wife recently returning from a lengthy work trip may have added to the pleasantness of it all. We went for a family bike ride over to our favorite spot by the river and played, explored the "jungle", laid on a blanket, watched the clouds dance and enjoyed a little ukelele that my wife is learning to play. It was quite a lovely afternoon. I tried to capture a bit of the loveliness with the short clip below of the slowly morphing clouds in a blue sky with ukelele playing softly in the background.

Last week I had my 2 boys help me plant some carrots, turnips and cherry tomatoes in a makeshift container garden we made by drilling some holes in the bottom of a giant storage tub that we have no use for anymore and filling it with soil. The turnips sprouted the other day, the cherry tomatoes sprouted shortly after and now the carrots are starting to come up. Exciting!
