Outdoor Spaces

Since we moved into our new house last year I have realized that my favorite thing about it, aside from its location, is the big front porch. The house is small and the porch is a nice living area that helps make it not feel as small as the official square footage would suggest. It is an old house and it has one of the big and deep front porches that were typical on houses 100 years ago. It has been really nice out the last couple days so we've been sitting out there a lot and it is just really cozy. The loveseat is something we already had so we're using it for now but we want to replace it with a porch swing.

Another project on our todo list is adding a deck and shed to the back of the house. Right now there is nothing back there. Just a few steps down into the yard from the back door. The idea is to put in a deck with a good amount of space for an outdoor dining table and some seating. We also need a shed for storage so we need to decide which is higher priority or if we want to do both at the same time. Putting some garden beds in is also in the plans but I think we'll wait until the deck and shed get done to decide where they'll go. I just think nice outdoor spaces are cozy.

Wow, it has been a long time since I last did anything with my recipes section of my capsule. The drought is over now though. Two new recipes now adorn the gem-port kitchen. So if you fancy some Cacio e Pepe pasta or want to unwind with a nice mojito on your porch maybe check it out.
