Things are Finally Settling Down

Wow, it has been a whole month since my last post to the gemlog. Life has been rather busy and stressful for a while and what little time and motivation I had went into keeping up on smolZINE. We have moved to a new house and the whole process kept us (and me even more so) extremely busy. Preparing our old house to be put on the market was a lot of work. Then we had so many showings scheduled immediately after listing it that we ended up just getting a short term rental for a few days so we didn't have to come and go constantly with kids and dogs. The house sold rather quickly and then packing and moving. The bulk of the move was plenty busy but then there were a number of days of going back to the old house to get things forgotten and taking care of various tasks to make sure the house was in order. Now we're getting settled in the new house and while it's not 100% done we're in a much more relaxed state now thankfully.

One thing we really like about the new place is we sit about 50 feet from a very nice bike trail. Another thing we like is that we're about 2.5 miles from the beach. Frustratingly, the shortest route to the beach is not bike friendly. There is a bike friendly route to a different beach that takes about 30-40 mins mostly via the aforementioned bike trail. Many bike rides and a few beach trips have already happened and I foresee many more to come.
