Miscellaneous Tinkering

PocketCHIP Oled

Lately I've been using and poking and prodding my PocketCHIPs. The config files have seen some tweaking and I wired up a tiny oled display to the gpio pins and mocked up with some tape where I might be able to mount it as a secondary display. Now I just need to decide whether or not I want to go through with permanentaly attaching it and the best way to securely affix it if I decide to do so. I have plenty of ideas for what I would have it show like song info, system stats or maybe various info that cycles through like a slideshow.

Odroid Go

I discovered some new to me games and copied them over to the Odroid Go. I may start another sub-section under my capsule's Videogames section for the lesser known but not homebrew games I really like. Think interesting and good maybe quirky games that flew under the radar. If that's something you would like to see hit me up on the fediverse and let me know.

A few of the games I've been playing on the Go lately: Chalvo 55 (GB), Mario Golf (GBC), Catrap (GB). Chalvo 55 is an interesting puzzle platformer that was only released in Japan but there is fan made english patched rom. You control a little robot that can switch between two modes, walking/pushing and turning into a bouncing ball. Mario Golf is not an under the radar game but I got very addicted to it this week and beat it. It's a very enjoyable casual game with a pleasingly slow pace. Even playable with one hand. Catrap may not be a lesser known game either but I've been playing it and really like it as well.

Chalvo 55 on the Odroid Go

I pop into the odroid go forum at least once every week or so to see if anything cool is happening and it looks like we might have the ability to play arduboy games on the Go soon. This is pretty cool as the arduboy community has produced some very nice games.
