Time to toss Apple products

Apple follows the spirit of current times

Decades ago Microsoft started to do internationalisation of it's

products in a bad way - one of the reasons I don't like MS Windows.

This went over the top in many places (besides some really bad translations)

for example in Excel where you can't use a file containing formulas in an

Excel instance using a different language. As a side note - Excel

still produces CSV files that it can't read again.

Back to the file system: an existing path /Users/XXX becomes

/Benutzer/XXX in a system set to German. This works as long as you don't

use some shell or configuration files which store a path. Plain stupid.

I always set my systems to English because of that and I did this also

for my Macs for years. Until recently I was not aware that Apple does

the same bad thing - I saw it on a friend's Mac which was set to German.

But Apple even went further. They used "gender" language. This whole

gender thing is something I could ignore - in English it doesn't do

much harm to the language, I think.

But: In German it in fact destroys the language.

So the home directory of a user on a Mac set to German now becomes:

/Benutzer:innen/XXX instead of /Users/XXX.

In Germany more than 70% of the population are against this phenomenon.

It is imposed on the majority by a fanatic minority and by the

government media (which claim to be independent).

Now Apple is also in line.

I already abandoned iPhone use after Apple announced "client side scanning

for child porn" and after establishing their massive geo-tracking of users

even if they don't want it. Time to abandon the use of their computers also.
