"Don't get too close to the ballet" they said, What they really meant was "If you are knowledgable about the web, you will came to abhor it." And thus I find myself in Gemini space enjoying the sparseness of it all. I prefer CLI over GUI; I prefer content over form; I prefer things to be what they purport to be and today's web is not that.
Gemini is appealing to me precisely because it is all but certain to never become mainstream. It is designed to do as little as possible and is therefore useless to those who wish to surveil, sell, and exploit us. The cost of using the web has become too high. It was time for Gemini.
More content will come as I learn new workflows in a space that is inspiringly bereft of established tools.
