Movements which aim to liberate people seem to be not very popular or are always fighting an uphill battle to gain any attention. Watching a video about Linux made me think about this, but I am very familiar with this concept being very acquainted with Esperanto since I speak it. Why is that?

Movadoj kiuj celas liberigi homojn ŝajne ne estas tre popularaj aŭ ne bone sukcesas atingi la atenton de homoj. Mi pensis pri tio dum mi rigardis filmeton pri Linukso. Kompreneble, kiel Esperanto-parolanto mi tre bona konas tiun ideon. Kial tio okazas?

I've discovered Emacs and Org Mode. Ohhhhh boy! I am not a programmer, so I don't have a lot of need for Emacs, I'm in it just for the Org Mode. I think I have been looking for a plain text solution to note taking and I hadn't quite put my finger on it, but for a long time MS Word has seemed too heavy for what I want to do. For some reason, having to get past a loading screen to write notes never made any sense. And I'm not a super user that is really into anything (i.e. into "security", into "light programs", into "no bloat") but I think I have been fascinated by plain text for a while and just never realized it. Anyway, lots to figure out about Emacs, but for now I am happy using Doom Emacs and writing org notes.

Been having computer problems lately. A drive failed on my FreeNAS server and had to figure that out. I had set up FreeNAS without knowing much about it. Added a NextCloud account to it and used that almost exclusively, but decided to figure out how to use the shares function. Regular shares are working. Home shares still not working. Not sure why.

Got a Raspberry Pi a few days ago and it's really cool. I'm going to use it as my daily driver for a week to see how that feels like. Oddly enough it drove me right back here to the tilde where I hadn't been in a whole month. It's perfect for this.

I was in the process of posting about the second language that I use in this capsule, Esperanto, and an Australian youtuber had just posted a video about it. In it he mentions a video from TLDR News who had published a video on it the day before that.
