Imagine living on the moon: Life could be tough. It's a vacuum. Imagine a lunar village. The highlight of the day would be walking to the shop with the shopping list. A chance to get outdoors! MILK TEA CIGARETTS BEER NEWSPAPER. Luxuries would be scarce. I guess we would have to live in capsules. You could work at growing crops. The crops would be under glass. But glass is heavy cargo, to fly it up there from earth (I digress). The place for a lunar village would be at the sunny south pole where the daylight would be permanent. This would be ideal for generating electricity. The people up there would be good fun. No riff raff, just awesome folks. . . you could learn a lot up there. I would want to go out in the great outdoors, and the moon has a lot of that. Walking, I can reflect on things but I think we evolved for thousands of years to be surrounded by nature and trees – it's in our collective unconscious – and not the lunar deserts. We did not come from there. I'd drive too in an electric car. Or wander down in to the dark crater 4000 metres deep. I don't think we'd have the freedom to just do those whimsical solo runs because it would jeapordise the mission. It's got to be all hands on deck. Imagine taking a tumble in that crater and busting your insides. . . . I thought I read somewhere that Christ banished some demons to the moon or at least it's some sort of holding area to keep them away from Earth. Nearly 2 millennia later the Apollo arrives. Surely the demons would have liked to hitch a ride back to the Earth via the Lunar Modules. Of course those astronauts had the "right stuff". They were incorruptible and perhaps were protected by the Holy Spirit. Evil just had no way in. Imagine if they had been able to get here.

OK so from the pictures I've seen of the proposed lunar village, it will be ugly on the outside. I think I would like if the buildings were outdoors in the vacuum, unpressurised, and if you go shopping you would wear a spacesuit. This would eliminate the need for airlocks. Really, these things would probably just get delivered by a robot rather than oneself stumbling across the village in a lunar suit... I think we would go a little crazy up there and perhaps a bit institutionalised.
