I like the lightbulbs that are available these days. In my day we just had standard ones in a rather bulbous shape. There is a historic lightbulb in Livermore, California which has been going since 1901. It has its own webcam or bulbcam. The bulb just glows faintly. I guess webcams are not such a big deal now with streaming and video chat. The website looks like it dates back to the nineties. Recently I bought a clear retro bulb which is 40 Watt. I screwed it into a light fitting which has "Max 22W" on it. I've got a dimmer so I dimmed the bulb to around 10 or 12W or so.

I think these types of bulbs look best dimmed so you can look at the hotwire. I reckon it could last a long time being permanently dimmed. When switched off it takes a second or two to fade. Now I'm starting to think my one needs its own web cam.... 🤔 So I will leave you with that thought.
