I only used Insta to look at goings-on in my local coffee shop and I didn't want an account (could be addictive I guess). Then they changed it so I needed an account even just to look at that. So I tried bugmenot.com but that didn't work. So I made an account and because Zuckerberg owns it and he was 'bugging' me, I called it zucker bug. Dubious.. Now anyway, I set it up on my desktop. Instagram is really a phone or tablet app. So all I wrote in my profile was that I can't post because I only have a desktop. I got a bit carried away because I decided to put a picture of a bug as my avatar. It was a cartoon cockroach. So all I looked at was hashtags of my local area, and some local instagrammers, all very wholesome. I wrote no comments and didn't 'like' anything nor attempt to follow anyone. But after a day, they flagged my account for being suspicious! They wanted me to give them my phone number so they could text me a number to type in ! I had to think about it. I don't want zuck having my number because he could keep it and cross-check it against all sorts of dubious data. Sure I have a dumbphone. After a day of this I decided to give them my spare little-used dumbphone number to text. So I thought that would be the end of it. Instagram page responded that they would re-open my account if they could verify who I am. But after a day waiting they banned my zucker-bug account for breaching legal terms even though I had done everything correctly.
