Issued on 2022 Aug 21 1105 UTC

A partial halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed in LASCO C2 from around 04:49 UTC on August 19 with an average velocity of around 700 km/s. The bulk of the CME is directed to the south-west with a glancing blow at Earth possible on August 22.

Issued on 2022 Aug 21 1129 UTC

A weak shock signature was observed at about 17:24 UT August 20, reflecting a probable CME arrival. The solar speed increased from around 500 to 560 km/s and the density increased from 6 to 9 ppcc. The total magnetic field increased from around 5 to 7 nT. This resulted in Active conditions globally and locally (NOAA KP=5 and local K-Dourbes k=5) between 21UT August 20 and 00UT August 20.
