A partial halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed in LASCO C2 around 16:12 UTC on July 15 with an average plane of sky velocity of around 300 km/s. The CME is related to an on disc filament eruption in the northern hemisphere near the central meridian. The bulk the CME is directed to the north-west but a glancing blow at Earth may be expected late on July 19.
