A halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed today in SOHO/LASCO coronagraph imagery around March 20 at 07:45 UTC. The source region is located on the backside of the solar disc, therefore this CME is not directed to Earth. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux showed a slight increase today around 06:45 UTC. This increase is associated this halo CME.
