Issued on 2022 Mar 08 1357 UTC

SoHO LASCO C2 coronagraph data detected a weak and slow almost halo CME leaving the Sun around 23:24UT on March 6th following a preceding filament eruption near plage region NOAA 2958. The CME is directed primarily to the north-west from Earth's perspective with estimated projected velocity about 250 km/s. Combined with STEREO A COR2 coronagraph data (where the CME is seen as a partial halo), the CME is estimated to have a weak Earth-directed component with a glancing blow expected to reach Earth early on March 11th.
