A shock was observed in Solar wind data as recorded by DSCOVR. At 19:24UT Solar wind speed jumped from 498km/s to 542 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field jumped from 4nT to 9nT. Meanwhile Solar wind speed rose above 700 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field peaked near 20nT and remains above 10nT. Bz was initially positive but is now firmly negative at -10nT. These signatures mark the early arrival of one of the expected CMEs. With current Solar wind velocity and negative values of Bz, if persistent, moderate geomagnetic storms can be expected.
