NOOA Kp has reached moderate storm conditions (Kp = 6) during the 3-hour interval 3:00-6:00 UTC on March 1. K Dourbes was 4 (active conditions) during the same interval. This enhanced geomagnetic activity is related to an enhancement in the solar wind since 21:30 UTC on February 28, with solar wind speeds up to about 520 km/s and magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field up to about 15 nT. Bz was below -10 nT during the aforementioned interval, and is currently close to 0. Minor geomagnetic storm conditions (K Dourbes = 5) are possible on March 1, with a chance for moderate storm intervals (K Dourbes = 6).
