I'm not sure why I assumed that being accepted for Medicaid coverage would be the end of the process.
Of course this capitalist hellscape pushes Medicaid coverage through the same insurance companies that steal our money and kill us. Of course I have to _choose_ which of these horrible entities will manage my government-provided healthcare benefits. We can't have any sort of TRUE socialism in this country at all. I have to select between Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, two more I have never heard of, or CountyCare which is Cook County's local government run plan. CountyCare looked pretty damn good at first! But over on Lex I've been having some really informative discussions about this and everyone says CountyCare is anywhere from "acceptable" to "horrible." Because of course we can't allow any government run service to actually be good, we have to knee-cap them in favor of exploitative corporations. BCBS will apparently give me the best experience and coverage. But none of my existing doctors or upcoming specialist appointments take BCBS Medicaid.
This is. Hell? I've had to put my laptop down two days in a row now because comparing these plans is overloading my already damaged brain. I'm on Medicaid because I can't function enough to hold a job. And I'm expected to jump through the same hoops for coverage as jobbed people are???
